Customer Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to customer accounts at Bargain Book Corner. By registering or using a customer account, you agree to these terms.

1. Using your account

Your account is for genuine book enquiries, requested-book alerts, reservations, and customer orders. Keep your password private and provide accurate contact information. You are responsible for activity completed through your account.

2. Requests and availability

You may ask us to look for a specific title, author, genre, or books similar to another book. A request does not guarantee that we will find, source, reserve, or sell that book to you. Availability can change before we confirm an order or reservation.

3. Reservations

When we reserve a book for you, we will tell you the reservation period and any payment requirement. A reservation may be cancelled if payment is not received by the agreed deadline, if we cannot contact you, or if stock information was incorrect. We may then offer the book to another customer.

4. Orders, pricing, and payment

Your account may show requested books, order details, prices, delivery arrangements, payment status, and cancellation information. Prices, delivery charges, and payment methods are confirmed for each order and may differ from earlier estimates. An order is not final until Bargain Book Corner confirms it. For bank-transfer orders, payment may be required before dispatch. For cash-on-delivery orders, payment is due when the books are delivered.

5. Delivery and collection

Delivery options, charges, collection arrangements, and expected timeframes are agreed for each order. Please provide an accurate delivery address and be available for the agreed delivery or collection time. We may cancel or delay an order when delivery cannot be completed.

6. Cancellations and changes

You can ask to cancel or change an order before it is dispatched or handed over. We will confirm whether this is possible. Once an order is dispatched, delivery charges or other costs may still apply. We may cancel an order if stock becomes unavailable, a listing contains an error, payment is not received, or we reasonably suspect misuse.

7. Book condition

Our books are pre-owned unless stated otherwise. We aim to describe condition accurately, but normal signs of previous ownership may be present. Please review the photos, condition notes, and any questions answered before confirming a purchase.

8. Communications

We may contact you by email, phone, WhatsApp, Messenger, or another contact method you provide about your requests, reservations, orders, payments, delivery, and account activity. You can tell us if a particular contact method is not suitable.

9. Your information and privacy

We store the information needed to manage your account, customer requests, reservations, orders, payments, delivery, and support. This can include your name, contact details, requested books, messages, order history, reservation and cancellation history, and delivery details. We use this information to provide the service and do not display your personal details in public offer listings.

10. Fair use

Do not create false requests or reservations, misuse another person’s account, attempt to interfere with the website, or use the service for unlawful activity. We may suspend or close an account that is used improperly.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the customer service develops. The latest version will be available on this page. Continued use of the account after an update means you accept the updated terms.
